Emotions, Fundraising, and a Video!

Well, it has almost been a month since we have been matched with sweet Hudson.  During this time I have honestly been a roller coaster of emotions, ranging from pure happiness and excitement that we have a precious baby son to moments of such anxiety that it is hard to breathe.  These anxious moments just creep in and take my breath away...will Hudson bond quickly or have a hard time adjusting?  How will it be for him, growing up Asian in an American home?  How will this transition really be for Henley and Griffin?  During one of these anxiety moments I heard a great song by Casting Crowns called "Already There."  So true...God is already there at the end of our story - He knows how it all comes together and is with us along every step of the journey.   I will try to attach the song if I can figure it out:)

On another note, I want to share about two of our fundraisers we are doing to raise money for Hudson's orphanage fee ($5,000 - this goes directly to his orphanage and will help take care of the children still waiting there) and the two week trip we will make to bring him home.  We are having one more yard sale, hopefully May 11.  Anyone local who would like to donate gently used items can be in touch (aimeebeddingfield@yahoo.com) and we will make plans to pick up your donation.  More info on the time and location to come...

If you are not in the area and would still like to make a donation, please check the link to our "100 Wishes" fundraiser.  A "100 Wishes" quilt is a tradition in China - each person who contributes a piece of fabric for the quilt also leaves a good wish or prayer for the baby.  We are planning on making Hudson a special 100 Wishes scrapbook which will contain each good wish or prayer that you contribute.  If you do not feel comfortable making the donation through paypal, please email me and I can give you our mailing address.  And for our sweet friends who made a wish for "Anna Li," don't worry - we will change the name when we put the wishes/prayers into a scrapbook:)  Please click on the "100 Wishes" link under Hudson's picture, on the right side of the blog, to check this out!

Please continue to pray for Hudson and the estimated 147 million orphans around the globe, that God's people will step out and care for the least of these.  Here are a few of my favorite verses that reflect God's heart for caring for orphans...

I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of
the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it for me.
Matthew 25:45

Learn to do good.  Seek justice.  Help the oppressed.
Defend the cause of orphans.  Fight for the rights of widows.
Isaiah 1:17

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain
from your field, don't go back to get it.  Leave it for the foreigners, orphans, and widows.  Then the Lord your God will bless you in all that you do.
Deuteronomy24:19

In you the orphan finds mercy.
Hosea 14:3

As I close, I am attaching one more Hudson surprise from his file.  Here is a
video that really showed us some of his sweet personality.  Love the laugh!
